Reveles

My freshmen year was by far my funniest and dorkiest year. I thought that if I gave off the impression of knowing everything everybody would like me, and while I did know a fair amount about cars and music, my knowledge was nowhere near what it is now, and even now I still don't know everything. There were plenty of times where my lack of humility would get the best of me, and it was usually always hilarious.
When I first started out my four year's in marching band I had no idea what I was doing, but I tried to give off the impression that I did. I thought that somehow I would be able to blend in, even though I play one of the largest and heaviest instruments instruments in the band. Among everyone in the marching band this award is seen as the "congratulations you don't suck anymore award". I was completely dreading this award at our marching bands award banquet, and sure enough I won. While it was sort of funny looking back, I took it as a way to completely improve and make sure that I could win one of the higher awards. Over the years I've certainly improved, but this award has always been there to remind me not to get to fool of myself.
The last and most recent thing that has taught me a lot about having a sense of humility is being an older brother. When my little sister was born I wanted to help out in every way that I could. Through spending a lot of time with my sister I've learned a lot about setting the correct example and making sure that you are doing the right thing. Kids naturally pick up everything, and that got me in trouble on many occasions as a pre-teen. While humility is something that I learned a lot about by being a big brother, I've also learned about so many other traits as well. Honestly, I'm still learning more and more everyday.
